ORAL EXAMINER RECRUITMENT
As a result of a growing candidature
of Cambridge ESOL Exams in
Upon successful interviews, teachers will be invited to attend a training programme (around 2 days) before being certified as Cambridge ESOL Oral Examiners. Oral examiners are expected to work mainly on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
The applicant should
meet the following requirements:

University
degree in a TESOL-related subject;*
*NB:
For the Young Learners English tests (YLE), applicants should have recent
experience of dealing with children, either socially or professionally.

At
least three years’ relevant, full-time, and recent experience in English
teaching (or 1,800 hours of teaching)

Age
over 25 and under national retirement age on appointment;
-
Overall
language proficiency relevant to the examination level (minimum IELTS 5.5)

Clear
diction and linguistic accuracy;
-
Willingness
to continue to develop professionally;
-
The
aptitude to fulfill the administrative aspects of performing in the role
of OE, e.g. responsible, able to maintain confidentiality of the work
involved (test
materials,
assessments, etc.), show attention to detail, flexible, punctual, etc.;
-
Availability
to undertake assignments during a substantial proportion of the examining
period of the examination for which he/she is applying, and to attend
relevant co-ordination meetings.
