Who recognises PET
The Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET) is a lower intermediate examination for learners of English, set at level B1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is taken by more than one hundred thousand people every year, in over eighty countries. Like other Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) examinations, PET covers the four main language skills – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking – as well as knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, and assesses learners’ ability to communicate in English in real situations.
Many employers recognise Cambridge ESOL certificates as proof of the holder’s ability to use English to communicate effectively and the skills gained are of value in a wide range of work related situations.
